Do we get to decide who we remember, and how we remember them? What if we remember the name and not the finer details of who the person was? In our society, we build statues to commemorate those who have passed; who we think deserves to be remembered. They stand tall in a public spaces, as a reminder of their impact and contribution to our communities. Within our cities, there is little room for diversity when it comes to statues, especially those within the LGBT+ community. It is our responsibility to give recognition to people no matter of their gender or sexuality. ‘Queer Here’ is a celebration of a diverse community, giving a voice to the young people of today, who they would want to have a statue, what their future should look like.
